Here’s a carrier-by-carrier checklist for a sales agent who wants to sell Medicare MA, PDP, or MAPD plans. The major national brands are represented here, but we can help in understanding contracting requirements for other carriers as needed. Medicare carriers (MA / MAPD / PDP)

UnitedHealthcare (UHC / AARP MedicareRx)

Products: MA, MAPD, PDP
You’ll need:

• Active resident/non-resident LH license(s) + carrier appointment(s) in selling states.

• Annual Medicare baseline training: AHIP or NABIP (UHC accepts either) — transfer score through Jarvis → Learning Lab to get credit/discount.

• UHC annual certifications in Jarvis: read What’s New, sign Pledge of Compliance, pass Base-Level assessments (Medicare Basics equivalency via AHIP/NABIP, Ethics & Compliance, AARP) to achieve Ready-to-Sell.

• W-9, EFT, E&O coverage, background check, FMO/upline assignment (if applicable).

• Follow UHC MA/PDP marketing rules; complete any Next-Level/SNP modules if selling those products.
  
  

Humana (MarketPoint)

Products: MA, MAPD, PDP
You’ll need:

• Active license(s) + Humana appointments.

• Annual CMS Medicare + FWA training (via AHIP or NABIP) and Humana Product/Compliance modules in MarketPoint University (via Vantage) to become Ready-to-Sell.

• If selling Florida CarePlus, complete the embedded CarePlus module.

• W-9, EFT, E&O, background check; complete annual attestations.
  
  

Aetna (CVS Health / SilverScript)

Products: MA, MAPD, PDP (SilverScript)
You’ll need:

• Active license(s); Aetna appointments (Aetna may appoint after first sale where permitted).

• Complete AHIP Medicare or Aetna’s in-house Medicare training (AHIP alternative), then finish Aetna Individual Medicare training in the certification portal to be Ready-to-Sell.

• W-9, EFT, E&O, background check; Producer World set-up.
  
  

Cigna Healthcare

Products: MA, MAPD, PDP
You’ll need:

• Active license(s) + Cigna appointments.

• Annual certification in Producers’ University (option to test-out). AHIP discount available; transmit AHIP if taken externally.

• No separate PDP cert if you’re licensed in Cigna MAPD states; otherwise you’ll be assigned a PDP-only track.

• Complete Attestations to reach Ready-to-Sell. W-9, EFT, E&O, background check.
  
  

Wellcare (Centene)

Products: MA, MAPD, PDP
You’ll need:

• Active license(s); Wellcare appointment via Centene Workbench.

• Annual ACT (Wellcare Annual Certification Training) plus AHIP or NABIP (launch from Workbench for tracking/discount).

• Single Sign-On portal access; complete blackout/launch timelines each year. W-9, EFT, E&O, background check.
  
  

Elevance Health (Anthem/BCBS plans by state)

Products: MA, MAPD (PDP availability varies by state/brand)
You’ll need:

• Active license(s) and the state’s Elevance/Anthem appointment.

• Core certification: AHIP or NABIP plus Elevance Compliance & Product training to be Ready-to-Sell.

• Follow any brand/state instructions (some operational quirks like app submission rules can vary by year). W-9, EFT, E&O, background check.
  
  

Molina Healthcare

Products: MA/MAPD (select states)
You’ll need:

• Active license(s); Molina appointment via Molina Agent Center onboarding.

• Annual AHIP or NAHU/NABIP + Molina training/attestations (delivered via Callidus/Agent Center); complete by carrier-set deadlines to maintain RTS.

• W-9, EFT, E&O, background check.
  
  

Devoted Health

Products: MA/MAPD (select states; no standalone PDP)
You’ll need:

• Active license(s); Devoted appointment (often via FMO).

• Annual certification: AHIP or NABIP accepted, plus Devoted product/compliance modules in the Devoted broker portal; background check and appointment processing as part of onboarding.

• W-9, EFT, E&O.
  
  

Universal items (apply to all carriers)

• Active Health license(s) in each selling state + carrier appointment(s) before solicitation (or as allowed post-sale by state).

• Annual Medicare + FWA training (AHIP or NABIP/NAHU) and carrier-specific certifications before AEP; maintain Ready-to-Sell status in each portal.

• E&O insurance, background check, W-9, EFT set-up, and (if applicable) FMO/upline assignment.

• Strict compliance with CMS Medicare Marketing Guidelines, SOA rules, call recording (if applicable), and carrier brand rules.
  
  

Quick notes on PDP availability

• Aetna (SilverScript), UHC (AARP MedicareRx), Humana, Cigna, and Wellcare continue to offer stand-alone PDPs (state/region dependent).
